What we do
You tell us the job and your postcode. Registration-checked installers near you who specialise in that kind of work can see it, and the one who takes it gets your details and quotes you directly. That's the whole service, and how it works has the detail.
Around that, we write plain-English guides to the questions that come before a quote: what size heat pump a room needs, why one is dripping, what the rental heating standard asks of a landlord, and what a complete written quote looks like.
Why a site called Find My Aircon says heat pump
The name started across the Tasman, where people talk about air conditioning. Here the everyday word is heat pump, and even EECA notes that air conditioners are typically known as heat pumps in New Zealand homes. So that's the word on every page.
It's mostly about heating, too. EECA says more than 70% of New Zealand households now heat their homes with heat pump technology, so winter comes first on this site and summer cooling second.
Where we're up to
There are no installers listed, no reviews and no job photos here yet, and we won't invent any. As businesses pass our checks, they'll start seeing jobs in the areas they cover.
That means some towns and some kinds of job won't be covered for a while. If no local heat pump installer takes your job within 48 hours, installers elsewhere in your region may see it too.
What we're not
We're not an installer, a heat pump brand's dealer or a retailer, and we don't sell or fit units. We're not part of EECA or the Government, and we can't promise anyone a Warmer Kiwi Homes grant: EECA decides who's eligible.
Nor can we promise a consent outcome, or that a rental will meet the healthy homes standards. Councils, Tenancy Services and the law decide those, and a good installer will tell you the same.
Who's behind it
Find My Aircon New Zealand is run by Blufire. Our legal name, NZBN and address: legal entity name, NZBN and registered address.
For a job, use the quote form. For anything else, our contact page lists where to send it. We'd be glad to hear from you.
