Who you're dealing with
The site is run by legal entity name, NZBN and address. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the quote form.
What the site is, and what it isn't
It's a referral service and a set of guides. When you send the quote form, registration-checked local installers who specialise in your kind of job can see it, and the one who takes it gets your contact details to arrange a quote. We don't install, service, repair or sell anything.
Our guides and tools are general information for New Zealand homes, not advice for your particular house. A size from the size calculator or a figure from the running cost tool is a rough starting point, and the installer who has seen the room is the one to rely on.
Your agreement for the work is with the installer
Installers are independent businesses. The quote, the contract, the work, the warranty and the payment are all between you and them, and we aren't a party to any of it.
Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, the installer must carry out the work with reasonable care and skill. Those guarantees apply whether or not there's a warranty, and they can't be signed away.
What we can't promise
We can't promise that an installer covers your area, that one will take your job, or what anyone will quote. We also can't promise a Warmer Kiwi Homes grant, which is EECA's decision, a particular council consent outcome, or that a rental will meet the healthy homes standards.
Using the quote form fairly
Give your own details, or someone else's only with their say-so, and describe the job honestly. Please don't use the form to advertise, to gather installers' details, or to send anyone on a wasted trip.
We may decline to pass on a job that looks like spam, or that we can't put in front of a suitable specialist.
Our content, and other people's sites
The words, drawings and tools on this site belong to copyright owner. You're welcome to quote a sentence or two with a link back; please ask before copying more.
We link to regulators, councils and brands as sources. We don't control their sites, and a link isn't an endorsement.
Liability
How far our liability goes is still being worded with a lawyer: liability wording. Whatever it ends up saying, it won't limit a right the Consumer Guarantees Act or the Fair Trading Act gives you.
Changes, and the law that applies
We may update these terms, and the date at the top shows the current version. New Zealand law applies: lawyer review of governing law wording.
If anything here is unclear, ask us through the contact page and we'll explain it.
