For installers

Installer FAQThe questions we'd ask before signing up.

Straight answers to the questions we'd ask in your shoes before taking heat pump, heating or ventilation jobs from a new referral site. Where something isn't decided yet, we say so instead of guessing. If yours isn't here, ask us on the contact page.

Three things to know first

Only the installer who takes a job gets the homeowner's contact details. Jobs are split by specialty, so what you see is work you actually do. And we're new: no installers have joined yet, so there are no results to show you.

The rest is below. For the step-by-step, including what the Privacy Act asks of your first call, see how jobs work.

Questions people ask

Is each heat pump job sold to several installers?
No. Several installers who specialise in that work may see the job, but only the one who takes it gets the homeowner's contact details. Each job is shown to the local installers who cover the area.
What does a job cost me?
Still being set: installer pricing. Homeowners pay us nothing, and we tell them so on every quote card.
Am I locked into a contract?
Contract length and notice aren't settled yet: contract length and notice. You'll see the terms in writing before you agree to anything.
Which areas are open?
Not decided yet: launch areas. Our locations page shows the regions and cities the site has pages for.
Can I choose the kinds of job I see?
Yes. You tell us what you specialise in, and that's what you'll see. A ventilation specialist won't be shown a gas heater install, and a ducted heat pump installer needn't see filter cleans.
What happens if nobody takes a job?
If no local installer takes it within 48 hours, heat pump installers elsewhere in the homeowner's region may see it too. The contact details still go only to whoever takes it first.
What if a job is fake, a wrong number or a duplicate?
Let us know as soon as you find out. How credits will work: credits for bad jobs.
Do I need a refrigerant licence to join?
There's no government refrigerant licence in New Zealand. We'll ask which credentials your people hold under the industry arrangement the Commerce Commission authorised in 2011: refrigerant credential we require.
Will my business name or reviews appear on the site?
We don't name installers on our pages. Whether we show your Google rating or reviews, without your name and only with your agreement: how installer reviews are used.
Can I send the homeowner offers later?
Only with their consent. The Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 needs consent before commercial emails and texts, and a working unsubscribe in every one.
Can I get Warmer Kiwi Homes heat pump jobs through you?
No. Warmer Kiwi Homes is EECA's programme, and EECA holds contracts with its own service providers, who must follow its installation specifications. We're not part of it, and no job from us comes with a grant attached.

Where this information comes from

We don't publish prices. Every home is different, so an installer's written quote is the only real number. How we write and check these pages.
